Popcorn Sutton brand rolls out new ‘brown’ spirits aged in oak barrels

Popcorn Sutton Distilling in Newport is rolling out its first batch of barrel-aged spirits in time to commemorate the death of Sutton, who took his own life on March 16, 2009. The product is aged a minimum of three years in charred oak barrels.
These are two of the stills at Popcorn Sutton Distilling in Newport. The distillery has all-copper pot stills made by Vendome Copper & Brass Works, Inc., in Louisville, Ky. The largest two have a 2,500-gallon capacity each.
