The Locust Grove historic home on Blankenbaker Lane near River Road has raised about $100,000 to develop an exhibit demonstrating early farm-scale distilling.

The exhibit should be under construction by year’s end and open for viewing next spring, said Locust Grove Executive Director Carol Ely.

Farm distilling was “part of the story of early farming in Kentucky.   The farms took corn and fruit and turned it into something to be preserved, especially whiskey and brandy,” Ely said.
