First and Oldest Whiskey Distillery in Texas Celebrates Historic Milestone with Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner

Hye, Texas (May 22, 2017) – Today, Garrison Brothers Distillery, one of the first small distilleries in America outside of Kentucky to authentically hand-produce straight bourbon whiskey, will fill its 10,000th bourbon barrel. The distillery first started operations in 2003 and first sold bourbon in Texas in 2010. Now, Garrison Brother’s Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey is distributed all across Texas, in 25 U.S. states and overseas in Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey is regarded by many as the highest quality, finest tasting bourbon whiskey in the world. The brand is esteemed because of its unique chemical composition. The higher alcohols credited with causing dryness, headaches and an alcohol burn are virtually untraceable in Garrison Brothers bourbon.

Owner Dan Garrison submits his bourbons to a laboratory annually for gas chromatography and mass spectrometry testing to assure his bourbons have the lowest levels of propanol, butyl alcohol, amyl alcohol, methanol and acetaldehyde. “We think we’re making the finest tasting, highest quality bourbon ever made and we have the reputation, awards and science to back-up this claim,” says Garrison.

As the legions of volunteer bottlers know well, the distillery is fastidious about quality control. All Garrison Brothers bourbons are made with organic grain. The facility is squeaky clean. Volunteers who help bottle the bourbon also partake to assure every drop meets their high expectations.

The brand has received numerous industry awards. Jim Murray, in his 2017 Whiskey Bible, named Garrison Brothers Cowboy Bourbon the American Micro Whisky of the Year for the second year in a row, bestowing a 96.5 score– one of the highest scores ever issued.

According to Murray, “Four years in Texas evidently equate to 23 in Kentucky: there’s a geography lesson for you. Whiskeys from this distillery have absolutely delighted and astonished me in the past: this proves, indubitably, it was no fluke.
